Velaine-en-Haye
June 2014

When the French Football Association decided to approve the use of synthetic playing surfaces in Ligue 1, the top division in France, the Association Sportive Nancy Lorraine (ASNL) became one of the first professional football clubs in France to install a synthetic pitch at its home ground, the Stade Marcel-Picot, in Nancy in 2009. With the qualities of the FIFA Recommended 2 Star-certified synthetic turf system from Polytan having made such a good impression, the training ground situated to the west of Nancy in Velaine-en-Haye was also given a LigaTurf RS+ CoolPlus pitch in June 2014. It took around six weeks to install the combination turf, which has been used successfully all over the world for many years. The team now trains on an optimal foundation all year round – even when the weather is bad.
