It can be found on almost every artificial turf field: the mineral filler sand, specifically quartz sand. The quartz sand we use, monitored according to EN 15330-1, has a specified quality and grain size. It ensures the stable hold of the blades and protects the backing fabric of the turf carpet. The advantages of sand include its low purchase price and minimal maintenance effort. A prerequisite for good playability is a densely woven turf carpet that keeps the sand in place and, in combination with the elastic base layer, provides cushioning and ensures good protection for the athlete.
