PolyPlay Arena with LigaGrass Pro

The community of Bodolz on the east side of Lake Constance lives on tourism. That’s why sport plays a big role there, with the opportunities ranging from hiking and mountain biking through inline skating to tennis and the traditional golf. Many of the locals are also members of the athletics club, Turn- und Sportgemeinschaft Lindau-Zech e.V., or the ball sports club, Ballspielclub Bodolz 1973 e.V. (BC Bodolz).

Polytan has now played a part in expanding the range of sports on offer even further, installing a mini-pitch in Bodolz in September 2019. The thinking behind such PolyPlay Arenas is to create high-quality pitches for small areas, fully equipped with our synthetic turf systems or synthetic surfaces and featuring goals, fencing and ball stop netting as well. The idea was born from the DFB’s 2007 campaign to build 1,000 mini-pitches for Germany immediately after the Football World Cup in Germany.

The pitch was laid with our LigaGrass Pro turf system with an infill comprising sand and the newly developed Fusion GT, which combines the advantages of our sophisticated infill granules with those of a natural raw material – the perfect fusion of nature and technology.

Our mini-pitches are available in a range of standard sizes as well as customised sizes and colours. In Bodolz an XXL version with dimensions of 40x20m was installed, as well as a 3m-high protective net extending all the way round, increased to 6m on one side and serving as a ball stop net. The PolyPlay Arena in Bodolz is a public facility and open to anyone; BC Bodolz is using it for its team and skills training.
