High acceleration, optimal cushioning — Polytan surfaces set the standard in elite sport! Whether at Olympic stadiums or Diamond League competition, our Rekortan surfaces guarantee top performance and perfect running dynamics.

Since the Olympic Gamesin 1968, all major athletics events worldwide have been held exclusively on synthetic running tracks, commonly referred to as “tartan tracks.” However, Tartan is not a generic term for the surface itself, but a brand name that has become widely used in everyday language. From the very beginning, Rekortan has been one of the leading track surface systems in high-performance athletics. Today, more than half of all Diamond League stadiums feature advanced polymeric surface systems from Polytan or Rekortan. Their popularity is due to their outstanding performance characteristics, such as maximum acceleration, optimum force reduction, and long-term resilience.Polytan offers a range of PU-based synthetic surfaces for athletics facilities, available in both water-impermeable full-pour systems and water-permeable textured systems, including sandwich constructions. Each system is engineered to meet the sport-specific functional requirements of different disciplines. Additionally, climatic conditions at the installation site play a key role in selecting the most suitable track system.
All Polytan synthetic surfaces can be certified in accordance with World Athletics standards for use in international competitions. While the classic brick-red surface remains popular, there is growing demand for UV-stable colours in bold, expressive shades—such as the iconic Hertha Blue at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium.
Football puts pressure on the surface from every direction. LigaTurf Quantum R is built to handle exactly that.
Its advanced fiber structure stabilizes itself multidirectionally while maintaining its shape even under intense use. Each fiber returns upright after impact – ensuring a consistently even and resilient playing surface.
Built for durability. Designed for performance.
With LigaTurf Quantum R, Polytan is sending a clear signal towards uncompromising sustainability: the fibers incorporate recycled plastic (PCR) from carefully sorted post-consumer recycling.
This means that plastics already in use are processed to a high quality and returned to the product cycle – reducing the need for fossil raw materials and improving the overall environmental footprint.
Thanks to ISCC PLUS certification, this use is not only effective, but also transparent and fully traceable.
The ondulated fiber surface breaks the light, eliminating the artificial shine and creating a natural, rich appearance. At the same time, it delivers a noticeably improved feel – softer, more skin-friendly, and clearly more premium.
A turf that not only performs, but feels the way football should.
Pressure is part of the game. The answer: a fibre that can handle it. The spiral-shaped fibers with our TwistPro Technology act like an integrated spring within the system. They absorb pressure, store energy, and return to their upright position immediately after impact.
This ensures long-lasting stability and consistent playing conditions – even under heavy use.
Performance that recovers.

Depending on the sport and desired playing characteristics, artificial turf systems can be equipped with different typesof infill. We offer systems filled with quartz sand; sand and elastic infill granules; or sand and cork/ other natural materials. The infill ensures an authentic playing experience, grip and traction for quick tempo and directional changes, clean ball-rolling behaviour, and high player protection.
