Polytan Tartan GOLD at Stade Georges Suant
The French municipality of Antony is located south of Paris and today belongs to the Greater Paris area. It was once a retreat for the affluent as a suburb, with its gem being the Parc de Sceaux from the times of Louis XIV. In addition, Gründerzeit and Art Nouveau villas have been preserved. Today, residential blocks dominate the cityscape, with their inhabitants commuting to work in the excellently connected metropolis on the Seine during the day. The tourism guide "France Voyage" bravely promotes the slogan: "Antony seduces those who discover it with its quality of life."An integral part of Antony's quality of life is sports. In 1961, the athletics department Antony-Sports was founded through private initiative, initially consisting of twenty athletes. Later, sections for running disciplines and long jump were established, achieving national and international success over the decades. In 2006, the club changed its name to Antony Athlétisme 92, introducing new disciplines such as walking and marathons. The club has reached a high level of sporting achievements today, but performance is not its only goal. The club's leaders also emphasize health and leisure activities and the training of future coaches for adapted sports and cross-training. The club is particularly dedicated to children and young people: with its athletics school, they aim to offer young people a playful introduction to various disciplines.Today, the "Stade Georges Suant" sports facility is home to Antony Athlétisme 92. However, the club shares this facility with Antony Football Evolution, an educational and sports project of the city of Antony, as well as the Club Sportif Portugais d'Antony. The stadium features an eight-lane athletics track and various jumping facilities. Additionally, the sports complex includes 19 tennis courts, seven of which are covered, an athletics hall, a fitness and cardio training room, as well as sandball and basketball courts. In 2007, the stadium was completely renovated and received a red Polytan synthetic surface. This was now replaced by our high-performance surface Tartan GOLD in red. The combination of a full PU top layer and a cushioning adjustment layer makes this waterproof synthetic surface extremely durable and ensures consistently good force reduction values. Thanks to the embedded granules in the wear layer, Polytan Tartan GOLD is particularly suitable for spike shoes, offering exceptional acceleration. Its outstanding elasticity protects athletes' joints, while high abrasion resistance completes the qualities of our top-tier surface.Additional tracks, as well as the high jump and long jump facility, were designed with Tartan GOLD in Sky Blue. The project also incorporated Polytan SMART, our intelligent system for digital performance diagnostics and precise timing. Metrics such as running time, speed, stride length, stride frequency, and jump height are recorded. This makes Polytan SMART suitable not only for classic disciplines like sprints, middle-, and long-distance running, hurdles, and relays. It also assists in long jump or pole vault by capturing key parameters and improving them through targeted training.
