Athletics Redefined – with Rekortan BS in Magnago

In the northern Italian municipality of Magnago, just outside Milan, the fully refurbished Pista Atletica was officially reopened in 2023 – a modern athletics centre set to breathe new life into both local grassroots sport and competitive youth training. The reopening ceremony was graced by none other than Italian Olympic champions Alberto Cova and Gabriella Dorio – a symbolic starting signal for a new chapter at this historic venue.

As part of the modernisation, the entire synthetic running track was resurfaced with our premium Rekortan BS system in brick red. Its structured surface combines outstanding durability with excellent energy return and shock absorption – ideal for both training and competition. In addition to the six-lane circular track, the facility also includes fully equipped areas for all standard jumping and throwing disciplines.

Today, the venue is used primarily by the Atletica Bienate Magnago 1980 athletics club, local schools, and the Italian athletics federation FIDAL, which has already hosted its first official competitions on the new surface.

The renovation of the Pista Atletica Magnago is another clear example of how Polytan’s high-performance systems deliver both technical excellence and visual appeal in municipal sports settings – enabling long-lasting performance and greater enjoyment of movement for athletes of all levels.
