In line with the goals of the EU Commission's plastic and bioeconomy strategy, we are conducting intensive research on the use of bio-based and CO₂-based plastics. Resource and climate protection are therefore core goals of our innovation program, whose results are housed under the umbrella of the "Green Technology" (GT) line. But that is not enough for us. In addition to the contribution that our climate-friendly products in the Green Technology line make, we want to take yet another step for environmental protection together with our customers!
Together with our partner Treedom and with the help of our customers, we have set ourselves the goal of binding even more additional CO₂ from the air. Thanks to our customers' trust in Polytan Green Technology, we are making an important contribution to a climate-friendly future in sports!
The Polytan Forest
The Polytan Forest
For each newly installed Green Technology artificial turf product, we dedicate 11 trees to our customers as a thank you for their trust. One tree for each player on our new sustainable sports facilities. This way, everyone contributes to our shared goal: making sports more sustainable without compromising on quality and usability.
The Polytan Forest is located in Kenya. The country on the Indian Ocean has much to offer in terms of natural beauty. Treedom's goal in Kenya is to encourage small farmers to engage in small-scale reforestation through a fully participatory approach. Since 2014, Treedom has been working with numerous local organizations and involving local authorities to reforest rural areas and create alternative agricultural income sources for the population. By planting fruit-bearing trees in the Polytan Forest with Treedom, we not only help bind CO₂ from the air but also support small farmers by helping them establish and sustain their livelihoods.
