Located roughly halfway between La Rochelle and Bordeaux lies the sports-oriented city of Saintes: handball, football, basketball, as well as rugby, tennis, and padel are all played here. At the heart of the sports complex Complexe Sportif Yvon-Chevalier is the eponymous football stadium with an integrated athletics track. During the summer of 2022, we renovated the six running tracks, including the sprint track as well as the run-up zones for all common throwing and jumping disciplines. Rekortan M was used, featuring a combination of two popular shades of blue: Herthablue and Skyblue. Rekortan M is not only our proven classic among synthetic surfaces but is also recognized worldwide as an outstanding competition surface. It ensures exceptional acceleration, is fast, and offers increased elasticity as well as excellent shock absorption, which is equally appreciated by athletes and sports physicians.Moreover, Rekortan M scores in terms of sustainability, as it is made from 49% recycled material. For this reason, it is one of the most frequently certified running track systems in the world, with more than 150 World Athletics-approved installations globally.The athletics facility is used by US Saints Athlétisme, an association of six regional clubs also known as Athlé Sud 17, as well as by Handisport Saintes.
