Jahnstadion Neuss – Modern tennis facility for year-round play

The Jahnstadion in Neuss is one of the city’s largest district sports complexes and offers ideal conditions for a wide range of sports – from football and athletics to hockey and tennis. Polytan has already completed several sports surfacing projects on the site and was also involved in the modernisation of the tennis facilities.

As part of the expansion of the existing tennis area, two new covered tennis courts were built, enabling year-round play regardless of the weather. The courts were fitted with the Laykold Masters 5 tennis surface in sky blue. Laykold is one of the world’s leading hard-court systems and has a history dating back more than a century. This cushioned hard-court system combines a high level of playing comfort with consistent playing characteristics, ensuring a precise and uniform ball bounce. At the same time, its resilient surface helps to reduce strain on joints and muscles, providing ideal conditions for both daily training and competitive play. Thanks to its robust and durable construction, the surface is particularly well suited to heavily used club facilities. These qualities are why Laykold is installed at tennis facilities around the world and has also proved itself at the highest level of competition, including as the official playing surface of the US Open and other prestigious international tournaments.

The tennis complex at the Jahnstadion is used primarily by TC Blau-Weiß Neuss. The neighbouring HTC Schwarz-Weiß Neuss, with its tennis section, is also based at the Jahnstadion. In addition, the district sports complex serves as a training and competition venue for numerous other clubs and is regularly used for school and recreational sport.

The expansion of the tennis facilities has further strengthened the Jahnstadion’s position as a major sporting venue in Neuss. The new year-round tennis courts provide ideal conditions for club activities and training while further enhancing the complex’s wide range of sporting facilities.
