Qualification for the 2023 Track and Field World Championships in Budapest

Ratingen, located in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan area, lies on the border between the Lower Rhine Plain and the Bergisches Land region. This densely populated area isn't short of sports facilities, including the municipal stadium in Ratingen. Situated on the edge of the historic city center, it comprises a football pitch and athletics facilities. It is suitable for hosting school or club competitions, as well as international events, with a spectator capacity of up to 5,000 people. Main users include schools – with the Friedrich-Ebert Secondary School located directly next door – as well as sports clubs like TV Ratingen, which dates back to 1865. The stadium is also home to the matches of the traditional Ratinger Spielvereinigung Germania 04/19. Just in time for the Stadtwerke Ratingen Multi Event Meeting in June 2023, we renewed the athletics track at Stadium Ratingen. This included the circular track with its integrated sprint track and various throw areas, which were designed in alternating dark Hertha blue and light sky blue using Rekortan PUR. This event has been a highlight on the national athletics calendar for many years. As part of the qualification opportunities for the World Championships in Budapest in August 2023, the Multi Event Meeting, with its status as a Gold Label meeting of the World Athletics Combined Events Tour, holds a key position – not only for Germany's finest all-round athletes but also for the international multi-event elite.
