LigaTurf Cross Cool Plus at Stade des Coteaux

Saint-Cloud is a French town with 30,000 inhabitants, located to the west of Paris, just about 10 km from the city center. The town owes its name to Chlodoald, a grandson of Clovis, the founder of France. Chlodoald renounced all claims to the throne to escape the glamorous yet dangerous life of the royal palace. He retreated to a hill along the Seine. After his death, he was canonized, and the hamlet quickly transformed into a popular pilgrimage site – the Saint-Cloud we know today.

On the slopes above the Seine lies the local football stadium, Stade des Coteaux, which underwent extensive renovations in 2020. During the renovation, the old artificial turf was replaced with our LigaTurf Cross Cool Plus. This artificial turf combines smooth and textured filaments, merging the advantages of both types into an ideal football turf, both in terms of feel and appearance, while also requiring minimal maintenance. We now also offer the LigaTurf Cross with renewable (GT) as well as recycled fibers (R) – the LigaTurf Cross GTR.

In addition to the artificial turf, the Stade des Coteaux also saw its floodlights renovated, as well as the locker rooms and the stands, which accommodate over 300 spectators. A unique feature of the stadium in Saint-Cloud is its location on the roof of a two-story car park with space for around 400 cars. This required structural measures such as ball-stop fences and drainage systems. Since its reopening in November 2020, the “Football Club de Saint-Cloud,” with approximately 10 teams, has been hosting its games here. Saint-Cloud's passion for sports is evident in the fact that the town has a total of 26 sports clubs, including five other football clubs in addition to the FC Saint-Cloud, ensuring plenty of competition.
