Poligras in the Parco Atleti Azzurri d'Italie in Bra, Italy
The small town of Bra in Italian Piedmont is not only known for its cheese, but is also the center of the Italian slow food movement. The most important local sport is field hockey. The men's team, the H.C. Bra, has played continuously in the first Italian hockey league since 1967 and has been champion a total of seven times in the last five years. The women's team is even more successful H.F. Lorenzoni, which won 17 titles on the field, plus 11 cup victories and an incredible 22 championships in the hall. Both teams play at Parco Atleti Azzurri d'Italie, which is part of a large sports complex and offers athletics from soccer to a swimming pool.
The successes in hockey are no accident, as intensive youth and young talent work is carried out in Bra. As early as 1067, the Inder Singh Hockey School founded, in which boys and girls aged 5 and over not only learn to play hockey, but also learn basic values in sports and society. The hockey school is named after a well-known Indian field hockey player who emigrated to Italy and played for Bra.
We have the training ground for La Scuola Hockey Inder Singh in 2022 with our proven Poligras Equipped with synthetic turf, it has been the first choice for major hockey events around the world for years. Poligras has already been used as an official playing area at eight Olympic Games. This high-performance hockey turf enables a game that is as precise as it is dynamic and offers maximum player safety even during complex game maneuvers: The dense and evenly multi-directional surface of the water-based turf system brings ball rolling accuracy and speed to an extremely high level and enables a quick and precise game. In addition, the flooring is extremely robust against changing weather conditions and high levels of UV radiation and, thanks to its durable design, can withstand intensive use over a long period of time.
With our hockey surfaces, we are also setting an example in terms of resource and climate protection: With our Poligras Tokyo GT Some of the filaments consist of renewable raw materials. “I'm green™ polyethylene” has the same product properties as conventional polyethylene, but is obtained from sustainably grown sugar cane. With Poligras Paris GT Zero We have also developed the first climate-neutral hockey artificial turf. In addition to the filaments made from bio-based raw materials (around 80%), the recyclable coating made of our polyurethane gives the floor a positive climate balance and guarantees ideal playing characteristics with significantly reduced weight. The Turf Glide Technology, also developed by us, minimizes surface friction, which ensures incomparably fast ball rolling behavior. At the same time, this significantly reduces water consumption and also increases player protection once again.
We are pleased to be able to support young hockey players in Bra with our product — so that series winners will continue to grow here in the future.
