Extremely robust: Synthetic turf for rugby and football

The port city of Gdynia is located just a few kilometers from Gdańsk and, with around 250,000 inhabitants, is one of the largest cities in Poland. As a thriving economic hub on the edge of the Gdańsk Bay, it often tops rankings for urban quality of life. Water sports of all kinds are very popular leisure activities, but football and rugby are also much loved. The city boasts five football clubs, and the rugby team RC Arka Gdynia currently competes in Poland’s top league, even winning the European Regions Cup in 2005.Their home games and training sessions are held at the “Narodowy Rugby Stadium” in Gdynia. It is Poland’s first stadium designed specifically for rugby. However, it is currently also used by the players of RC Arka Gdynia, the female players of Checza Gdynia, and the football teams Bałtyk Gdynia, as well as the reserve team and juniors of Arka Gdynia. In 2011, the Pomeranian American football team Seahawks Gdynia also joined. The fully covered grandstand currently seats approximately 2,500 spectators.
