Le Châtelard Academy is an internationally organized boarding school that provides a holistic education for young women aged 13 to 18. The impressive main building was constructed at the end of the 19th century as an elegant Belle Époque-style hotel, retaining its flair and charm to this day. Located at an elevation of around 1,000 meters above Montreux overlooking Lake Geneva and surrounded by the Swiss Alps, the almost idyllic setting offers an ideal framework for an educational experience that opens up numerous opportunities for personal development for the students, true to the school’s motto: "Become the best version of yourself." Naturally, the building is now modernly equipped. In addition to classrooms, there are computer rooms, an in-house library, a cafeteria, a theater, and a cooking school by "Le Cordon Bleu." Art and ceramics workshops as well as a photo lab complement the offerings, while an aerobics fitness studio, a fitness center, and a gymnasium allow for sporting activities. These include three tennis courts and a basketball court located in a park that surrounds the boarding school. These four courts were renovated in 2022, aligning with the high standards of the academy. They have been equipped with our Laykold surface, the courts themselves in Light Blue, with surrounding areas in Spring Green. The surface is also environmentally friendly, containing no asbestos, lead, or mercury, and stands out due to its high abrasion resistance and UV stability. It remains playable in all weather conditions. Moreover, Laykold offers a cost-effective solution to revive old sports surfaces on asphalt or concrete, thereby extending the life of a sports court or transforming it.
