Basketball Homecourt with PolyPlay SE atGustav-Walle-Mittelschule, Würzburg

In October 2025, Polytan completed a new basketball homecourt for the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation at Gustav-Walle-Mittelschule in Würzburg. The project was created to celebrate the foundation’s 20th anniversary and provides a freely accessible space for sport, activity and social interaction for children and young people.

At the heart of the facility is the PolyPlay SE sports surface, developed specifically for basketball and multi-sport courts. The playing area offers excellent playing characteristics, high durability and a long-lasting, low-maintenance surface – making it ideal for daily use in a school and neighbourhood environment.

The court was individually designed, with the colour combination of sky blue and Hertha blue creating a modern and eye-catching appearance. The design is complemented by the integrated logos and lettering of the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation and the Dallas Mavericks, clearly highlighting the project as a shared social initiative centred on sport.

The official opening took place in the presence of Dirk Nowitzki and representatives of the Dallas Mavericks. Since then, the basketball homecourt has provided outstanding conditions for physical activity, sporting development and community engagement – realised with the quality, safety and creative possibilities of Polytan.
