Experience German football history up close – this has been possible since October 2015 at the German Football Museum. Around 1,600 exhibits are on display, including authentic "witnesses" such as the ball from the 1954 World Cup final. Also on board: Polytan with a DFB small-sided pitch reminiscent of the "1,000 Mini-Pitches for Germany" campaign from 2008. While the first half of the exhibition focuses entirely on the national team, the second half highlights club football with the Bundesliga, as well as the DFB and European Cups. During halftime, visitors dive into complex game systems and explore the training and tactical philosophies of renowned coaches. In the spacious play zone on the Polytan mini-pitch, they become active themselves at the end. In summer 2016, the 12 x 10.80 m small pitch (original size in the museum: 18 x 10.80 m) was temporarily relocated to the museum forecourt to make room for a special exhibition on the European Championship. Also by Polytan is the second, round pitch in front of the museum, which, with a diameter of 4 m, is ideal for 1-on-1 or 2-on-2 games. www.fussballmuseum.de
