FIFA Certification for GKS Wilga Garwoli

The small industrial and trading town of Garwolin near Warsaw has a centuries-old tradition of beer brewing. Today, sports also have a high value here, with numerous clubs offering professionals and amateurs a wide range of activities. Tennis, volleyball, swimming, athletics, cross-country skiing, wrestling, cycling, badminton, handball, and, of course, football – the sport that has always played the leading role here – are all on offer in Garwolin. The biggest club is the GKS Wilga Garwoli (Garwoliński Klub Sportowy Wilga Garwolin), founded in 1922, which hosts its games at the Wilga Stadium. In the past, the stadium was also used for athletics and other competitions, and the grass pitch was sometimes misused for car stunt shows. In the summer of 2023, the club replaced the natural grass with artificial turf, specifically our LigaTurf Legend Pro. This infilled artificial turf system is a true performer, impressing players and operators with its optimal resilience thanks to its special multishape filament cross-section. This specially developed cross-section enables natural grass-like ball rolling and playing characteristics. The quality of our artificial turf systems is certified by various international standards, including FIFA. We have proven the high wear resistance of the filaments through extensive lab testing, ensuring the durability and sustainability of the surface. In terms of appearance, the wider filament width provides excellent coverage, and combined with the BiColour coloration, it creates a fresh, natural look for the playing field. Thanks to the turf constructions and Polytan system design tailored to its purpose, the footballers in Garwolin feel comfortable and safe on our turf at all times. There are now a women's football team and a youth football academy in addition to the men's team. Due to the high resilience of the artificial turf, the intense usage by multiple teams is not an issue. The artificial turf system was installed by our Polish partner Panorama Obiekty Sportowe.
