LigaTurf Cross at the “Complexe sportif Tuzelet” in Nueil-les-Aubiers, France

Meeting the (sports) needs of two municipalities

The charming town of Nueil-les-Aubiers is located in the western region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, close to the Atlantic coast. The municipality was formed only in 2001 through the merger of Les Aubiers and Nueil-sur-Argent, both of which had their own football stadiums. The new municipal council soon decided to consolidate football activities at the "Armand Tuzelet" site. The initial plan was to create an artificial turf training field and another natural grass field. Since the presence of an artificial turf field was expected to intensify sports activities at the site, the building complex, especially the number of changing rooms, had to be adapted to meet both demand and the standards of the French Football Federation. The "Armand Tuzelet" site has since evolved into the “Complexe sportif Tuzelet,” which includes not only the artificial turf field but also a tennis court and a hall for basketball, handball, football, and another for table tennis. Recently in Nueil-les-Aubiers, our Polytan LigaTurf Cross artificial turf was installed, which combines smooth and textured filaments. In Nueil-les-Aubiers, players of the football club “Nueillaubiers” rely on the proven quality of our LigaTurf Cross turf system, likely keeping an eye on nearby Nantes, which is always interested in talent from the surrounding area. Notably, FC Nantes is an eight-time French football champion. Among others, Didier Deschamps played here, achieving World and European Champion titles with the national team and, as a coach for the French national team, also securing a World Cup—a feat accomplished only by Mário Zagallo (Brazil) and Franz Beckenbauer (Germany).
