Safe and green – sustainable fall protection for Berlin Community School Campus Efeuweg

For the first time ever, Polytan’s newly developed PolyPlay FSE GT fall protection surface was installed at the Community School Campus Efeuweg in the south of Berlin. The fall protection surface in the colour signal green ensures a safe, child-friendly environment that invites play across a spacious area.

A special highlight of the surface are its raised contours and integrated ground trampolines in bright yellow, which are embedded in the fall protection system. They offer students additional opportunities for movement and require increased safety in the surrounding area – requirements that PolyPlay FSE GT fulfils with ease.

The two-layered structure of the fall protection surface fulfils the relevant safety standards by providing permanent shock absorption. At the same time, the surface is water-permeable, which prevents the formation of puddles and allows the children to quickly resume play.

With PolyPlay FSE GT, the school has chosen a product that not only excels functionally, but ecologically too: the surface is part of the Polytan Green Technology (GT) portfolio and is partially made of renewable raw materials and recycled materials. Accordingly, the school is making a valuable contribution to the sustainability of educational buildings.

The decision for the new fall protection surface was made as part of the general redesign of the school playground, which is intended as a place for children to interact, move and recharge. In PolyPlay FSE GT, a durable and environmentally solution was found that will meet both the pedagogical requirements and the safety standards for the site.
