High-performance product for Portuguese football talents

The Portuguese town of Seixal is located on the southern bank of the Tagus estuary, directly opposite Lisbon. Not far from the town, with more than 150,000 residents, you can cross the famous Ponte 25 de Abril bridge over the largest river on the Iberian Peninsula – at 2,278 meters, it is the third-longest suspension bridge in Europe. The bay of Seixal is also known for its flamingos. The Colégio Atlântico in the Arrentela district is an international school with a focus on “Erasmus” exchange projects for educators and students from the European Union. As a Microsoft School, Colégio Atlântico is a pioneer certified by the University of Cambridge for implementing new technologies in the classroom as well as innovative learning environments in general. As a cultural school, it also promotes sports, cultural, and artistic forms of expression alongside traditional lessons. Together with our Portuguese partner “Greenstadium,” we launched a new multifunctional sports field for Colégio Atlântico Academia de Futebol (CAAF Atlântico) in spring 2023, equipped with Polytan’s LigaTurf RS+. The highly robust artificial turf system allows for optimal energy absorption as well as ideal ball roll and bounce behavior thanks to its rhombus-shaped and particularly thick turf fibers. Additionally, our Polytan CoolPlus function ensures pleasant temperatures on hot days: pigments integrated on the surface of the fibers effectively and permanently reflect the infrared components of sunlight responsible for heat buildup. The field is primarily used by CAAF Atlântico, one of the many football academies in Seixal that have produced numerous talents for Portuguese football.
