Train like the pros in Peiting

The market town of Peiting has a population of almost 12,000. The Villa Rustica, an impressive Roman estate, demonstrates that the region's geographical location attracted settlers to the banks of the Lech River nearly 2,000 years ago. Today, tourists and locals alike find almost unlimited opportunities for sports activities here, including cross-country skiing, cycling, or hiking tours. Numerous sports facilities in the town's 40 districts are available to visitors and residents, including an ice sports hall, bowling alleys, an equestrian arena, tennis courts, soccer fields, and fitness trails. At the centrally located Birkenried Sports Center, we have now replaced the existing tartan track – after an incredible 41 years of intense use by the athletes of the TSV Peiting. The Rekortan AS GT was installed on the circular running track. With its special Chili Red color, our water-based spray coat is an optical highlight as well. One section features markings for a small multi-purpose field, while the opposite sector houses the long jump and high jump facilities. Our water-permeable Rekortan AS GT meets all requirements for competition tracks and multi-purpose facilities and is a true alternative to traditional cast-coated running track surfaces, especially because it can be installed particularly quickly. An added advantage: this innovative multi-sport surface is another environmentally friendly product from the Polytan Green Technology portfolio.

A special highlight of the circular track is the installation of Polytan SMART, our highly precise system for professional performance diagnostics. It is primarily used for classic track and field disciplines, such as long jump and high jump. The Polytan SMART system consists of integrated timing gates—maintenance-free magnetic timing barriers permanently and securely embedded into the ground. It also includes a sensor weighing just 15 g and the proven diagnostic software from our partner Humotion. Recreational athletes can use the system by syncing it with their smartphones via the free Smart Run app, which they wear on their bodies, for example, in a running belt. The analysis is then carried out directly in the app, evaluating metrics such as distance, time, number of steps, and frequency. In Peiting, a total of 38 timing gates were installed into the surface, 18 of which were embedded into the two lanes of the 100-meter sprint track, another 12 into the circular track, and 8 into the long jump facility. Thanks to its advanced digital sensor technology, the renovated running track in Peiting is now among the most modern in Bavaria—comparable installations can be found at the University of Augsburg and the Technical University of Munich. The TSV Peiting athletes can now train under professional conditions. The club hopes that the state-of-the-art track will mainly inspire young people to get involved in track and field athletics.

Adjacent to the circular track is a multifunctional all-weather sports field, which we upgraded with our durable all-round surface PolyPlay SE. Its smooth surface and excellent ball bounce characteristics make this single-layer synthetic surface an ideal foundation for ball sports and a variety of outdoor applications. Thanks to its water-permeable properties, the surface dries quickly and provides excellent slip resistance. This makes our synthetic flooring suitable for year-round use as an all-weather facility. Its striking Chili Red color harmonizes visually with the adjacent circular running track, and together they form a true eye-catcher against the nearby Alpine backdrop.
