In the Danish coastal city of Haderslev, the modern education centre VUC Syd was built in the middle of the old harbour area, based on designs by AART Architects and ZENI Architects. The associated sports facility, equipped with sports surfaces from Polytan, is divided into three main elements: the synthetic turf playing field, the running track, and the grass-covered slope. The running track is further divided into two sections: a classic circular track and a significantly longer, irregularly winding “off-road” track. Both are made of the PolyPlay FS synthetic surface with a 40 mm thick base layer. The 645 m² playing field features LigaGrass Pro CoolPlus synthetic turf. The “remaining areas” in the slope angle between the two tracks are designed as “blue” and “orange” spectator zones. However, both can also be used for sports activities. The blue, 62 m² spectator area is equipped with high (seating) steps or stairs, covered with a Polytan synthetic surface in the colour “Sky Blue.” In contrast, the orange, 90 m² area is furnished with numerous tree trunk stools. The installation of the synthetic surface here was elaborate due to the sloped ground and the intricate connection works around the stools.
