Rekortan SMART Running Track for the Guardia Civil Academy in Baeza

Since April 2024, the historic Academia de la Guardia Civil in Baeza, Spain, has been using a modern running track system from Polytan. The newly installed Rekortan AS GT circular running track combines high athletic performance with sustainable material technology and, thanks to integrated Polytan SMART technology, also provides valuable digital training data. The project was delivered by Polytan’s Spanish partner, SportSer.

The new facility also makes a clear visual statement: while the 100-metre sprint lanes are finished in a light May green, the surrounding track is executed in a bold signal green. The result is a modern, high-contrast appearance that highlights both the sporting function and the contemporary character of the facility.

The Academia de la Guardia Civil is one of the most important training centres of the Guardia Civil, Spain’s oldest and best-known police force. Since its foundation in 1988, future officers have been prepared here for their demanding duties in national security, law enforcement and public service. In addition to teaching facilities and accommodation, the extensive campus features comprehensive training areas, providing ideal conditions for intensive and practice-oriented training.

With the new Rekortan track, the academy is strengthening not only its sporting profile but also its technological infrastructure. The integrated SMART technology enables precise performance analysis and opens up new perspectives in training management – a clear added value for modern, mission-oriented training. The Rekortan AS GT surface impresses with its high sprint stability, optimal energy return and excellent cushioning properties. Its slip-resistant surface profile ensures secure footing in all weather conditions. Thanks to its bio-based binder, the system also represents a particularly environmentally friendly solution – without compromising on quality or performance. These are qualities appreciated by both ambitious athletes and future officers of the Guardia Civil.
