From August 1–3, 2025, France’s top athletes will meet in Talence for the national outdoor championships—competing on a Rekortan PUR track by Polytan.
For the first time in over four decades, France’s premier athletics competition, the Championnats de France Elite, is coming to Talence. From August 1 to 3, 2025, the country’s best athletes will compete at the Stade Pierre-Paul Bernard, now equipped with a world-class Polytan Rekortan PUR running track—a facility upgraded to meet international standards.
This edition of the Championnats de France Elite marks the first time in 42 years that the national outdoor championships will take place in the Gironde département. Long known for hosting the international Décastar combined events, Talence now steps into national spotlight territory, welcoming the full spectrum of France’s track and field elite for what promises to be a landmark event.
The stadium’s renovation in 2022 saw the installation of a Rekortan PUR surface by Polytan—an 8-lane, high-performance track system designed to deliver the grip, resilience, and speed required at top levels of competition. The upgrades also included expanded jumping areas and improved throwing zones, making it one of the most modern athletics venues in the country.
Athletes such as Gabriel Tual, Marie-Julie Bonnin, Alice Finot, and Cyréna Samba-Mayela are expected to compete—many using the meet as a springboard toward the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, set for late 2025.
With France’s Olympic and World Championships hopefuls in action, the three-day event is more than a national championship—it could define France’s team heading to the global stage. The stadium’s legacy, fused with its upgraded infrastructure, ensures Talence is ready for its biggest athletics challenge to date.
Polytan is proud to support this milestone in French athletics with a track built for speed, power, and performance. Here’s to unforgettable moments in Talence.
