Sports surfaces to see and feel

Visitors could discover a wide range of samples from the Polytan portfolio at the stand. These included various artificial turf systems with different infill materials, allowing visitors to see and feel the differences for themselves. A safety surfacing system was also installed directly into the stand floor, providing a first-hand impression of its construction and materials.

This gave visitors the opportunity not only to learn more about the different solutions, but also to experience their feel, structure and material properties for themselves.

The mini-pitch also attracted plenty of interest. A section of the FlexBlock perimeter system demonstrated how end-of-life artificial turf can be given a new application in sports facility construction. The robust perimeter modules are manufactured by FormaTurf from 100 per cent recycled artificial turf – one of several ways in which material from an old artificial turf system can find a new use around the sports field.

A stop on the GREEN-BLUE PATH

With the mini-pitch, Polytan and FormaTurf were also part of GaLaBau’s official GREEN-BLUE PATH this year. During the guided tour “Life Cycle / Recycled Building Materials”, a group of visitors stopped at the stand to learn more about the possibilities for turning end-of-life materials from sports facilities into new products.
