It is now possible to achieve new personal bests and smash records at international athletics meetings on a special environmentally friendly track made by Polytan with new GT Green Technology. The Burgheim-based sports surface specialist has developed the Tartan DIAMOND GT, a new product with a base layer consisting of 70 per cent renewable resources – presented for the first time at FSB 2017 in Cologne. Quite apart from the aspect of sustainability, the two-layer system design scores highly in terms of improved tread elasticity, acceleration and force reduction thanks to the use of gel-based PU technology in the base layer.
Maximum acceleration with stable levels of force reduction – these are the qualities that athletes, trainers and stadium operators look for in a modern competition track in international elite sport. Polytan can meet these requirements even more effectively with the new water-impermeable Tartan DIAMOND GT track. The new quality can be attributed to the solid, two-layer PU construction. What is more, it is the first track surface from Polytan with a base layer consisting of 70 per cent renewable resources.
The new gel-based PU technology used for the base layer provides for a longer lifespan and stable levels of force reduction, even at extreme temperatures. The base layer is self-levelling and can therefore be installed quickly and securely.
The letters GT in the product descriptions stand for Green Technology and allude to a particularly high level of sustainability and environmental compatibility. Like all competition tracks made by the Burgheim-based sports surface specialist, the Tartan DIAMOND GT with the new environmental technology can also be certified to IAAF standards.
