The warm Nordic summer night inspired the athletes to produce some outstanding results at the ExxonMobil Bislett Games Friday night: New 5000m women world record!
Tirunesh Dibaba of Ethiopia set a new world record with the time of 14:11.15.

New 800m men junior world record!
Abubaker Kaki of Sudan set a new world junior record with the time of 1:42.69 at the Bislett Games. This time, which is also a World Lead this year and a national Sudanese record, is the fastest time in 3 years on 800m.

Polytan LigaTurf 240 ACS 65 – the professional football turf
During the 2008 European Football Championships, the actual pitch turfing, namely Polytan LigaTurf 240 ACS 65, will lie hidden under a thick layer of earth and natural turf in the Red Bull
stadium in Salzburg and the Stade de Suisse in Berne.

For the Championships, the Polytan football turf system has been covered to create the same conditions for all matches in the tournament, although LigaTurf has been approved even for national and international competitions, such as the UEFA Cup and Champions League. After the end of the Euro 2008, it will see the light of day again when the natural turf is removed.
